Jaalva Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information Jaalva collects, why we collect it, how it may be used and shared, and the choices available to Jaalva users.
1.About This Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to Jaalva and its websites, applications, video-sharing, livestreaming, community, moderation, and related services (collectively, the "Service").
Jaalva is currently operated by an individual operator located in the State of Arkansas, United States. Jaalva is presently operating as a closed pre-alpha service and has not yet launched to the general public.
This Policy should be read together with Jaalva's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
2.Information You Provide
We collect information that you provide when you create or use a Jaalva account.
Depending on the features you use, this may include:
- Email address.
- Date of birth.
- Username and display name.
- Profile information.
- Profile images or other account media.
- Videos, captions, descriptions, hashtags, comments, and other content you submit.
- Livestream titles, descriptions, categories, video, audio, live chat, and related broadcast information.
- Reports, appeals, moderation information, and communications you submit to Jaalva.
- Feedback, bug reports, and other information you voluntarily provide during pre-alpha testing.
3.Date of Birth and Age Information
Jaalva requires users to provide a date of birth in order to determine whether they satisfy Jaalva's minimum age requirement and to provide an age-appropriate experience.
Jaalva does not permit accounts for children under 13 years old.
Date of birth may also be used to determine access to content or features that have additional age restrictions, including content designated as restricted to users who are 18 or older.
Jaalva does not display your date of birth publicly as part of your normal profile.
4.User Content
When you upload, publish, livestream, comment on, or otherwise submit content to Jaalva, we process that information so that the Service can store, transmit, display, moderate, and deliver the content as intended.
Content you intentionally publish to Jaalva may be visible to other users according to the visibility settings and features available for that content.
Public content should be treated as information that may be viewed, shared, or otherwise observed by other people.
5.Livestream Information
When you livestream through Jaalva, the Service may process live video, audio, chat messages, stream metadata, viewer information, guest-session information, and moderation activity necessary to operate the livestream.
Livestream data may pass through Jaalva's infrastructure and third-party service providers as necessary to deliver the broadcast.
Jaalva does not currently promise permanent VOD retention of livestreams.
6.Activity and Engagement Information
Jaalva may collect information about how you interact with the Service.
This may include interactions such as:
- Videos viewed.
- Video playback and watch activity.
- Likes.
- Follows and unfollows.
- Comments and replies.
- Shares.
- Searches.
- Livestream viewing and participation.
- Live-chat activity.
- Notifications and supported inbox activity.
- Other interactions with Jaalva features.
We may use this information to operate Jaalva, understand how features are used, improve the Service, prevent abuse, and develop features such as content discovery or recommendations.
7.Technical Information
When you access Jaalva, we and our service providers may automatically process technical information associated with your connection or device.
Depending on the technology being used, this may include information such as:
- IP address.
- Browser or device information.
- Operating system information.
- Request and access timestamps.
- Authentication and session information.
- Error and diagnostic information.
- Security and abuse-prevention information.
8.How We Use Information
Jaalva may use information described in this Policy to:
- Create and maintain accounts.
- Authenticate users and protect accounts.
- Enforce minimum-age requirements.
- Apply age restrictions to applicable content and features.
- Host and deliver user content.
- Provide video and livestream functionality.
- Provide follows, likes, comments, notifications, search, discovery, and related social features.
- Operate moderation and reporting systems.
- Investigate abuse and policy violations.
- Detect fraud, spam, security threats, and attempts to circumvent restrictions.
- Maintain and troubleshoot the Service.
- Develop and improve Jaalva.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
- Protect Jaalva, its users, and other people.
9.Moderation, Reports, and Safety
Jaalva processes information associated with reports, moderation decisions, account restrictions, appeals, livestream moderation, and other safety activity.
This information may include the reported content, reporter information, reported-account information, moderation notes, enforcement actions, timestamps, and related records.
We may retain certain safety and enforcement records after content has been removed or an account has been restricted when reasonably necessary to prevent repeated abuse, investigate incidents, resolve appeals, protect users, or satisfy legal obligations.
10.How Information May Be Shared
Jaalva does not make private account information public simply because you have a Jaalva account.
Information may nevertheless be shared or disclosed in the following circumstances:
- With other users when you intentionally publish or share information through Jaalva.
- With service providers that process information on Jaalva's behalf to provide infrastructure, authentication, databases, media delivery, security, or other technical services.
- When reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, legal process, or valid governmental requests.
- When reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, security incidents, abuse, threats, or violations of Jaalva's policies.
- When necessary to protect the rights, property, safety, or security of Jaalva, our users, or other people.
- As part of a future merger, acquisition, reorganization, financing, sale of assets, or transfer of Jaalva, subject to applicable law.
- With your direction or consent.
11.Service Providers
Jaalva uses third-party infrastructure and technology providers to operate portions of the Service.
During the current pre-alpha, these providers include services used for authentication, databases, storage, video or livestream infrastructure, content delivery, networking, and related technical operations.
Jaalva currently uses Supabase for portions of its authentication and database infrastructure and Cloudflare services for portions of its storage, media, networking, or livestream infrastructure.
These providers may process information on Jaalva's behalf as necessary to provide their services.
12.Data Retention
Jaalva retains information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing the Service, maintaining account functionality, protecting users, preventing abuse, resolving disputes, and satisfying legal obligations.
Different types of information may have different retention periods.
Content deleted by a user may remain temporarily in backups, caches, logs, safety records, or systems operated by service providers before being fully removed.
Certain records may be retained longer when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, moderation history, legal compliance, or the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims.
13.Security
Jaalva uses reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, loss, or misuse.
No internet service or method of electronic storage can guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for protecting your login credentials and should notify Jaalva if you believe your account has been compromised.
14.Your Privacy Choices
Depending on available Jaalva features and applicable law, users may be able to:
- Review or update profile information.
- Delete supported User Content.
- Control supported content visibility settings.
- Unfollow other accounts.
- Adjust supported account or application settings.
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information where applicable.
Some requests may require identity verification before Jaalva can act on them.
Certain information may be retained when permitted or required by law, including information needed for security, fraud prevention, moderation, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.
15.Children Under 13
Jaalva is not available to children under 13.
Jaalva does not permit a person under 13 to create or maintain an account, even with parental permission.
If we learn that an account belongs to a child under 13, we may suspend or terminate the account and take reasonable steps to delete associated personal information, subject to information we are permitted or required to retain by law.
Users may not provide a false date of birth or attempt to circumvent Jaalva's age restrictions.
16.Teen Users
Jaalva may apply additional privacy, safety, visibility, messaging, content, or feature restrictions to users under 18 where appropriate or required by law.
Jaalva may also require additional consent, verification, or account controls for teen users where required by applicable law.
Being eligible for a Jaalva account does not automatically make a user eligible for every feature or category of content available through the Service.
17.United States and International Users
Jaalva is currently operated from the United States.
Information may be processed or stored in the United States or other locations where Jaalva's service providers operate.
If Jaalva expands availability to additional jurisdictions, this Policy and Jaalva's privacy practices may be updated to address additional legal requirements.
18.Pre-Alpha Testing
Jaalva is currently a closed pre-alpha product under active development.
During testing, we may use account activity, diagnostic information, error information, feedback, and feature usage information to identify bugs, evaluate performance, improve features, and protect the Service.
Testers should avoid submitting information that is unnecessary for testing or that they would not want processed by a pre-release service.
19.Changes to This Privacy Policy
Jaalva will change substantially as development continues, and our privacy practices may change with it.
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to Jaalva, our service providers, our practices, or applicable legal requirements.
When appropriate, we may notify users of material changes through Jaalva, email, or another reasonable method.
The effective and last-updated dates at the top of this Policy identify the version currently in effect.
